The Children

The group that currently calls themselves the Founders’ Children have gone by many different names over the ages, but have retained the same central ethos for most of that time, to fulfill their self derived prophecy that would see the Founders reborn and light the fires of a new golden age. There have even been periods in history where they’ve held sway in one or more kingdoms, sometimes even taking on a more altruistic tone, but even then they failed to grow into anything resembling a mainstream religion. The last few centuries have seen them slide more and more into archaic extremism, taking the metaphorical worship of the Founders’ bloodlines and DNA, and turning it into a more literal worship of blood.

Wildly surpassing any reasonable expectations, they seem to have recently succeeded in fulfilling their ancient creed of returning the Founders to this world. No one outside of the cult knows how this was actually achieved, and even within the ranks of the Children, only a very tight inner circle knows exactly how this came about. Once it became more apparent that they’d succeeded in their goal, cult ranks swelling, open attacks increasing, and a seemingly unstoppable new weaver, kingdom intelligence corps began to talk. Over the last decade word had begun to trickle down that the cult may have discovered the origin point of the cataclysm somewhere deep in the The Great Waste. If that is true what they found there is still unknown, and how it may have allowed them to accomplish this seemingly impossible goal is an even larger question.
